Jaclyn
Wilson
(Fredericton, New Brunswick Canada.)
Well,
another competition has come and gone. After
realizing how difficult contest prep is I never thought I would get enough
motivation to do a second figure show. Some
how, I mustered up the mental strength to just go for it!
As a result, I can now happily say I placed 3rd at the
Atlantic Figure Championships (short class).
Although I only had one other show under my belt, I felt much more
prepared and confident. I had made
some gains since the Saint John Fitness Festival, all with the help of the
following people:
Mark Bissonette of Befit (BeFit.ca) – Thank
you Mark, for providing me with necessary supplements.
It has been your help and advice that allows me to compete.
Competing is very costly, and your sponsorship makes it all possible. I am grateful for it all.
Wayne Doucette – All
the hours we put in at the gym were worth it!!
You’re a terrific trainer and friend.
I want to express my deepest thanks for believing in me and seeing the
potential I didn’t. Your positive
attitude made working out a blast! All
your time and effort was greatly appreciated.
Garry Bartlett – I
want to thank you for taking the time to look at me before the show.
The advice was very helpful. As
well, the photos you took were perfect, I loved them all!
(The stage pictures on this page were taken by Garry)
Again, thank you for always taking time to talk with me, I love hearing
what you have to say!
Healthstyles Fitness (452-2900) - I
could not have been in the greatest shape of my life without Healthstyles.
Thank you to the other members who constantly wished me luck and asked
how training was going. Your
interest about the competition kept me accountable.
Miami Tanning (458-9771) –
Miami, I was told several times I had the best tan in the show!
Your beds and spray tans did wonders, so I share that compliment with you
and thank you for the sponsorship.
Family & Friends -
The support you provide is often overlooked.
Without a great cheering squad I could never stay focused, especially
when I need to be told that NOT eating a cinnamon bun isn’t going to kill me
;) I love you all and thanks for
everything.
Last but
definitely not least, I would like to say I had the pleasure of meeting Jen
Hendershott (Fitness International & Ms. Olympia Champion 2005) at her Phat
Camp. This truly amazing and inspiring woman made me realize
anything can happen: “Train Hard,
Dream Big. Be who you are and be
honest, people will love you!” Her
positive energy is never ending! (No wonder she can do those fitness routines!)
I’ve been following your advice and hope we cross paths again in the
future.
Oh, for those of
you who are checking in after my last update, the suits I made worked great. I plan on making new ones for the New Brunswick Championships
in November. I heard that it is
hosted in Fredericton this year, so I hope to see all of you there!
